The design and building of Waterford State School is a good example of our team’s expertise in assessing the site at an early stage in order to anticipate environmental constraints.
During the initial design stage, the proposed portion of the site intended for development was evaluated and determined as unsuitable due to inundation during regular flood events.
An existing gravel carpark was identified as being of a suitable size and elevation to accommodate the proposed classroom block.
Two stories of classrooms were provided above a new sealed carpark to replace the spaces that were lost. An elevated walkway provides a link to the existing school buildings.
“It is critical to have an overall vision for the school and its development in order to add value to every new project. Our designs are focused on achieving optimal use when every square meter counts.”
